Having trouble viewing the videos on our website?
There are several problems and possible solutions
Problem: The video jumps while playing, or skips along, not playing smoothly
Reason: The video is buffering, this means it's not able to download the video quickly enough to play smoothly
Solution1: After the video has ended press the play button in your media software to play it again, it should play smoothly this time.
Solution2: (Recommended) Instead of clicking the link for the video to play it, right click on the link and select "save target as" this will prompt you to save the video to a location on your computer. Once it has fully downloaded you can play the file without any buffering.
Problem: The video does not play at all, or all you get is sound after a short delay
Reason: This likely has to do with how your browser and media software are set to play media files, but the exact cause is unknown
Solution: right click on the link and select "open link in new window" The file should play correctly either in an embedded media player in the new browser window, or by opening up your media software to play
Also, we've noticed that using Quicktime as the primary player for MPEG videos
helps a bit in that it will download the file fully before playing it.
This alleviates the buffering and jumping problems.
